  A question for you managers out there....

  i work for a fairly large organization - we have over 35 satelite offices spread out across the state.

  there are jw's in some of these satelite offices that i deal with on a regular basis.

  i have never had a problem with them because i view work as work, it is a professional environment and each individual is judged based on their work performance.

  I would not disregard that possiblity in this day and age.

  You need a third party that is impartical to be nearby anytime she comes around. Does not mean that they have to sit down with both of you. Never let the door close if it is just the two of you. Do you have a conference room with glass that anyone passing by can see in.

  I would never go out alone with her. Only go in groups and make sure you leave before the group leaves.

  Something does not sound right here. Why aren't the other JWs that work there preventing her from coming to you.

  Studying the new "Keep on the Watch!" brochure- Whose Shameless Luxury? p13

  from the new brochure on page 13 comes this gem: the bible also says that babylon the great lives "in shameless luxuary".

  in ancient babylon, the temple organization acquired extensive landholdings, and the priests became prominent in commercial activities.

  today, in addition to places of worship, babylon the great has vast commercial holdings.

  Also not mentioned in this paragraph is the enforcing of a levy (tithing???) on each Witness in the form of compulsory donations "to the World Wide Work". Yet the WTS has the gall to condemn the churches???!!! If a church has an offertory it's condemned and ridiculed by the WTS, yet the WTS itself has compulsory giving.

  It is my understanding that the WTS never outwardly ask for donations. You said the enforce a levy and compulsory donations "to the World Wide Work". Are these expressed only to individuals from within the congregations or does the WTS put that in writing to the masses?

  If so, can you tell me where I can find these "requests?"

  While members of the support group can discuss doctrine and other issues related to their former faith, there will be absolutely no "evangelizing" or "spiritual guidance" offered to the group. No substituting one religion or set of beliefs for another. It is agreed that spirituality is a very personal matter, between the individual and their god, and such assistance should be sought outside the group, not within.

  What about individually? If a person still recognizes that there is a God and has a need for spiritual guidance, where do they go?

  it has been about 16 years since i last saw him.

  he was a "devout" jw's and we used to "pioneer" together.

  Do any of you ex-jws find anything wrong with Born-Again Christianity?

  my friend from my jw's days ran up to me on the street the other day and to my suprise he is no longer with the jw's.

  If your question is about the church in general. In the denomination of churches that I attend there is a structure for address questions of belief that they hold to. If you believe that the teaching is unbiblical, you take it to the elders. If they can not satisfy it than you take it to the classes Classes is a group of churches attended by the pastor and one elder from each church in a small geographical area (usually about 20 churches). If you still are not satisfied you take it to senit. Senit is a pastor from each classes and an elder. If they still can not not satisfy you, you can stay or leave. I have never heard of anyone being disfellowshiped for questioning the denominations beliefs.

  If it is an individual that sins, we first go to them an address it. If they still continue we take another with us and than we take it to the body of elders.

  Okay, I just got an email from my JW friend that says, " We did tarp roofs to make them dry. Hopefully they will withstand the next storm but I am doubtful if it comes in as a Catagory 5. We'll see exactly what happens in a few days. Right now we are clearing yards again. Taking down the dangerous branches that have already broken but not fallen to the ground. D oing the work in Punta Gorda, Port Charlott and today and tomorrow Arcadia."

  She goes on to say that there is so much to do, but it is well organized. Can anyone tell me if the WTBTS is doing work for the community in these areas or just helping the JW brothers and sisters? Any if there are any news articles other than the Society's own print.

  Both my wife and I turned our love life over to the lord in prayer one September night in 1983. That November we were introduced and August of 1984 we were married. We treat each other as gifts from God. I most certainly believe in "The Power of Prayer" and recommend it.
